Braintric Electrical and Automation Engineering Pty Ltd (Braintric, we, us or our) is committed to handling personal information responsibly, transparently and securely. This Policy explains what personal information we collect and hold, how we use and disclose it, how we protect it, and how individuals may request access, correction or make a privacy complaint.

This Policy applies to personal information handled in connection with enquiries, quotations, project administration, product sales, electrical and automation services, engineering activities, installations, maintenance, technical support, recruitment, supplier relationships and use of our website.
Where the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) apply to Braintric, we manage personal information in accordance with those requirements.
We do not ordinarily need sensitive information for standard services. If sensitive information is reasonably necessary, we will only collect and handle it where permitted by law and, where required, with consent. Please do not send passwords, complete payment-card details, government identity documents or unnecessary health information through ordinary email.
We usually collect information directly from you when you contact us, request a quotation, place an order, provide project documents, book an appointment, make a payment or otherwise deal with Braintric.
We may also receive information from an authorised representative, employer, property owner or manager, builder, contractor, supplier, manufacturer, logistics provider, insurer, professional adviser, government authority or publicly available register where reasonably necessary.
Where permitted by law, we may send information about products, services, updates or offers that may reasonably be relevant to you. We will comply with applicable electronic marketing requirements, including consent, sender identification and unsubscribe requirements.
You may opt out at any time using an unsubscribe facility or by contacting us. Opting out of marketing does not prevent service, safety, account or project communications that are necessary for an existing enquiry, order or contract.
We may disclose personal information where reasonably necessary to employees, authorised contractors, electricians, engineers, installers, suppliers, manufacturers, freight providers, payment or banking providers, insurers, accountants, lawyers, IT providers, hosting providers, software providers, regulators and government authorities. We do not sell personal information as a standalone commercial product.
Some cloud, software, communications, hosting or support providers may process or store information outside Australia. Where the APPs apply and Braintric is likely to disclose personal information to an overseas recipient, we will take reasonable steps required by law. Individuals may contact us for current information about likely overseas disclosures relevant to their information.
We take reasonable administrative, technical and physical steps appropriate to our operations to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. No internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for its purpose and for legitimate legal, taxation, accounting, insurance, safety, technical, licensing, warranty or dispute-management requirements. When information is no longer required and no law requires retention, we take reasonable steps to destroy it securely or de-identify it.
You may request access to personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct information you believe is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. We may ask for reasonable evidence of identity before releasing or changing information. Where the APPs apply, we will respond in the manner and within the period required by law.
Where lawful and practicable, you may interact with us anonymously or using a pseudonym. This may not be practicable where we need to identify you to provide a site-specific quotation, arrange access, supply regulated services, deliver goods, enter a contract, process payment or maintain compliance records.
We assess suspected privacy and data-security incidents and take reasonable steps to contain, investigate and remediate them. Where the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme or another mandatory notification requirement applies, we will notify affected individuals and the relevant regulator where required by law.
Braintric does not ordinarily rely on automated decision-making systems to make significant decisions about an individual rights or interests in the ordinary provision of our services. If our practices change, we will make any additional disclosures required by privacy law, including applicable requirements commencing from 10 December 2026.
If you believe we have not handled your personal information appropriately, contact us and describe your concern. We will acknowledge and investigate the complaint and respond within a reasonable period. If the Privacy Act applies and you remain dissatisfied after giving Braintric a reasonable opportunity to respond, you may be able to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in law, technology, information-handling practices or our business. The current version will be published with an updated review date.
Braintric collects information reasonably necessary for its business activities. This may include contact details, quotation and project information, site and technical records, transaction information, service history and information generated through use of our website or business systems.
These records may be necessary to understand a site, assess technical requirements, prepare a quotation, plan work, document existing conditions, provide engineering or technical services, investigate a fault or maintain an accurate project record.
No. Braintric does not sell personal information as a standalone commercial product. Information may be disclosed to service providers or project participants only where reasonably necessary for a legitimate business purpose or where disclosure is otherwise permitted or required by law.
Yes. You may request access to personal information Braintric holds about you. We may need to verify your identity and may refuse access only where a lawful exception applies.
Yes. If you believe information we hold is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading, you may ask us to correct it. We will assess the request and take reasonable steps as required by applicable privacy law.
Not necessarily. Some technology or cloud providers may use infrastructure outside Australia. Where overseas disclosure occurs and the Australian Privacy Principles apply, Braintric will take reasonable steps required by law in relation to that disclosure.
Retention depends on the type of information and why it is held. Braintric keeps records only for as long as reasonably necessary for legitimate business, technical, safety, contractual, taxation, insurance, legal or regulatory purposes, after which information is securely destroyed or de-identified where appropriate.
